How To Play Snaps Card Game?

Snap Game Rules

• Deck: The normal 52-card deck.
  
• Players: It requires two to twelve players.
  
• Goal:  Win all of the cards.
  
• How To Play: Pick the dealer randomly; after that dealer mix-up the cards and distributes them equally to all the players. Though, it is okay for players to hold more cards than other players. Every player puts the face-down card in the pile in front of them.

How To Play The Game Snaps

The game starts from the dealer’s left side player, and the game moves clockwise. Each player turns the top card from the face-down pile. When player A turns the card, if that card matches face-up with the player B pile, then the player race to be the first to call Snap. Those who call Snap wins both piles and adds them to the bottom of their pile.

When moving the card from the face-down pile to player B’s face-up pile, then other players should do it by turning the card away from player B. This makes sure that the player does not see the card before the opponents have the chance to do the same. 

If in case two players call Snap at the same time, then the two piles are placed in the center of a table and combined in the snap pot face-up with one of the two matching cards on top.

When someone flips the card that matches the card on top of the snap pot, then players race to be the first to say snap pot. The player who says the snap pot first wins the matching pile and the snap pot. If in case there is another tie, then the matching pile will add in a snap pot.

Eliminating Ties

If you find that the snap card game does have plenty of ties, then consider putting something in the middle of a table that players put their hands on top instead of calling snap. The first player to put the hand on top of the index card wins the cards.

Making A Mistake

When the player calls snap pot or snap at a wrong time, or the player puts the hand on top of the index card at the wrong time, then the player gives their top card to the opponent who just played. If the player makes a mistake on their turn, then the player must give the top card to the player on the player on the right.

Winning

Continue to play until one player wins all the cards. It is possible that few cards will remain in the snap spot when all the other cards have been claimed. For example, two of the 10s are claimed by the player, and later in the game, the other two 10s are included in the tied of snap. It happens; the winner is the player who wins all the cards not stuck in the snap pot.
